KNOWN ISSUE: Pioneer drivers installed via Serato DJ Pro on Windows may fail to install with an "Installation failed. (002) error" message

We are aware of an issue that causes driver installation to fail, in Serato DJ Pro 2.5.10 or higher, for certain bundled Pioneer drivers on Windows operating systems.

You may encounter an Installation failed. (002) error after clicking the Install driver prompt within Serato DJ Pro, when connecting your Pioneer primary hardware.

The issue is likely caused by; either your operating system securing the wrong soundcard, or Serato DJ Pro preventing the final stage of the driver installation from completing.

WORKAROUND

To resolve this issue, please follow one of the following two steps - note that you may need to complete both workarounds in some instances, and both steps require you to connect your Pioneer primary hardware, and launch Serato DJ Pro:

  1. Follow the steps from our Windows connection - Check the default audio playback device article, to ensure Windows has not selected your Pioneer primary hardware as the default audio playback device.
  2. After clicking Install driver from the prompt in Serato DJ Pro, but before clicking OK in the language selection screen of the Pioneer driver installer software, close Serato DJ Pro, and disconnect your Pioneer primary hardware's USB connection to your computer.
Now click OK in the language selection screen of the Pioneer driver installer software, and allow the driver installation to proceed.
