Some Serato DJ hardware requires additional routing to get the master output back into Serato DJ Pro. The audio can then be recorded in the software or output via the 'Use laptop speakers' and 'Make audio available to other applications' features when enabled. See the guides below for more information:
- Recording Your Set with Serato DJ Pro

If your Serato DJ hardware is not listed below, the master output is already routed through Serato DJ Pro and ready to be outputted to your laptop speakers or Virtual Audio Device (VAD) with no extra steps.
Note: Not all hardware captures microphone or auxiliary inputs. For more information, please check out our guide on DJ Hardware Microphone Recording Capabilities
Please follow the steps that apply to your device to ensure Serato DJ can access the master output audio when one of these features is enabled:
Interfaces
2 Channel
- RANE SL2
- Denon DS1
An audio cable is required to run from the Master or Record Output on the back of the mixer to input 1 on the interface. When enabled, the software sends all audio played through input 1 to your laptop speakers or VAD.
Note: This limits you to 1 deck of DVS control as input.
3 & 4 Channel
- RANE SL3
- RANE SL4
- Reloop Flux
An audio cable must run from the Master or Record Output on the back of the mixer to the AUX input on the interface. When enabled, the software sends all audio played through this input to your laptop speakers or VAD.
Mixers
- Allen & Heath Xone:DB2
- Allen & Heath Xone:DB4
You must designate channel 4 to route audio into Serato DJ Pro with the XONE: DB2 and XONE: DB4 mixers. You cannot use this channel for Serato DJ Pro while it is sending audio back into the software.
Designating a channel is done on the XONE: DB2 and XONE: DB4 hardware using the Menu button and Display Screen. Navigate to 'USB Routing' and select 'Record' for channel 4. Audio will then be routed from the mixer, through the software and to your laptop speakers or VAD when enabled.
- Allen & Heath Xone:43C
The XONE:43C also requires that you designate a channel to route the master audio back into Serato DJ Pro. Connect an audio cable from the Master or REC OUT ports on the back of the mixer to the INPUT of channel 4. You cannot use this channel for Serato DJ Pro while it sends audio back into the software.
- Pioneer DJM 850
- Pioneer DJM 900NXS
- Pioneer DJM 900SRT
To ensure your mixer is set up to route audio into Serato DJ Pro, open the SETUP screen and click the AUDIO tab. Launch the device driver panel by clicking the SETUP INPUTS button at the top of the AUDIO tab. On Channel 4 (USB 7/8), under the MIXER OUTPUT tab, select REC OUT in the dropdown. You cannot use this channel for Serato DJ Pro while it is sending audio back into the software.
- Alpha Theta Euphonia
- Pioneer DJM-A9
- Pioneer DJM-900NXS2
- Pioneer DJM-V10
To ensure your mixer is set up to route audio into Serato DJ Pro, open the SETUP screen and click the AUDIO tab. Launch the device driver panel by clicking the CUSTOM button at the top of the AUDIO tab. Navigate to the MIXER OUTPUT tab and ensure the 'REC' USB channel is set to MIX (REC OUT).
Note: Some of these devices have the ability to choose MIX (REC OUT with or without Mic)
- Reloop RMX 90
To route the master output audio from the mixer into Serato DJ Pro, open the SETUP screen and click the AUDIO tab. Select a channel to nominate as the recording channel. When enabled, this channel will also send audio to the laptop speakers or VAD. You cannot use this channel for Serato DJ Pro while it sends audio back into the software.
Controllers
- Numark MixDeck
- Numark MixDeck Express
Due to the configuration of these controllers, no audio is sent back into Serato DJ Pro. All controllers are built differently, and to give users the benefits of an affordable controller/standalone mixer (among other features), they do not offer a master audio stream back into the software for recording or playback purposes.
