How can we help?

Live Streaming & Laptop Speaker Hardware Limitations

Some Serato DJ Pro hardware requires additional routing in order to get the master output back into Serato DJ Pro. This is so it can then be outputted via your laptop speakers or to streaming software when the options are selected as shown in the guides below:

If your Serato DJ hardware is not listed below, the master output is already routed through Serato DJ Pro and ready to be outputted to your laptop speakers or VAD with no extra steps required.

Note: Not all hardware captures microphone or auxiliary inputs. For more information please check out our guide on DJ Hardware Microphone Recording Capabilities

Please follow the steps that apply to your device to ensure Serato DJ can access the master output audio when one of these features is enabled:

Interfaces

2 Channel

  • RANE SL2
  • Denon DS1

An audio cable is required to run from the Master or Record Output on the back of the mixer, to input 1 on the interface. All audio played through input 1 is sent through the software to your laptop speakers or VAD when enabled.

3 & 4 Channel

  • RANE SL3
  • RANE SL4

An audio cable is required to run from the Master or Record Output on the back of the mixer, to the Aux input on the interface. All audio played through the Aux input is sent through the software to your laptop speakers or VAD when enabled.

Mixers

  • Allen & Heath Xone:DB2
  • Allen & Heath Xone:DB4

To route audio into Serato DJ Pro with the XONE: DB2 and XONE: DB4 mixers you will need to designate channel 4. You will not be able to use this channel for Serato DJ Pro while it is sending audio back into the software.

Designating a channel is done from the XONE: DB2 and XONE: DB4 hardware using the Menu button and Display Screen. Navigate to ‘USB Routing’ and selecting ‘Record’ for channel 4. Audio will then be routed from the mixer, through the software and to your laptop speakers or VAD when enabled.

  • Allen & Heath Xone:43C

The XONE:43C also requires that you designate a channel to route the master audio back into Serato DJ Pro. Connect an audio cable from the Master or REC OUT ports on the back of the mixer, to the INPUT of channel 4. You will not be able to use this channel for Serato DJ Pro while it is sending audio back into the software.

  • Pioneer DJM 850
  • Pioneer DJM 900NXS
  • Pioneer DJM 900SRT

To make sure your Pioneer mixer is set to route audio into Serato DJ Pro, open the SETUP screen and click the AUDIO tab. Launch the device driver panel by clicking the DECK SETUP button at the top of the AUDIO tab. On Channel 4 (USB 7/8) under the "Mixer Output" tab and select ‘REC OUT’ in the dropdown. You will not be able to use this channel for Serato DJ Pro while it is sending audio back into the software.

  • Reloop RMX 90

To route the master output audio from the mixer into Serato DJ Pro, open the SETUP screen and click the AUDIO tab. Select a channel to nominate as the recording channel. This channel will also send audio to the laptop speakers or VAD when enabled. You will not be able to use this channel for Serato DJ Pro while it is sending audio back into the software.

Controllers

  • Numark MixDeck
  • Numark MixDeck Express

Due to the configuration of these controllers, no audio is sent back into Serato DJ Pro. All controllers are built differently and in order for these controllers to give users the benefits of an affordable controller/standalone mixer (among other features), they don't provide a master audio stream back into the software to be recorded.
