This is the right area of a Deck. Create or record notes or steps, otherwise known as a Deck Sequence, in the Deck Sequencer.

Scene Playhead: A white playhead displays the play position in the Deck Sequencer for the corresponding Scene being played. When you trigger playback, the Playhead will move through each Scene page in the selected scene.

Deck Sequence: This is the note or step data created/recorded in a pattern within each Deck in a Scene.

The note or step data in a Drum Deck work differently to Sample and Instrument Decks. The Drum Deck has a Step Sequencer split into 16 steps per Page. Adjust the number of steps per page using the Double Grid and Triplet Grid options.

FIll & Clear

Right-clicking on a drum in the drum sequencer will bring up a drop-down menu with two options. Fill In and Clear.

When hovering over the Fill In option you will be presented with a range of time signatures from 1/32 through to 1/1. Selecting a time signature will fill in the drum sequencer to the value you have selected.

Clicking Clear Row will clear all of the notes in the sequencer for the selected drum

Select & Edit multiple Notes: Hold [shift] and use the mouse to click and drag over a group of notes to select multiple notes. You can then adjust the length, velocity or placement of these notes while the notes are highlighted.

NOTE: Length and placement of steps in the drum sequencer cannot be edited.

Adjust Note Velocity: Hold [command ⌘] (Mac) /  [ctrl] (Windows) while hovering the mouse over a note / step on the selected deck to view Note Velocity. Using the same keys, click and drag your mouse up or down to adjust Note Velocity. Velocity can be adjusted between the values 1 and 127. Right click on a note and select "Reset Note Velocity", or "Reset Selection Velocity" for a selected group of notes, to set reset the note velocity value back to default.

Copy & Paste Notes & Steps:

You can use the Cut or Copy tools to copy any Sequencer Notes / Steps to another page, scene or deck.

Hold [shift] and use the mouse to click and drag over a group of notes to select multiple notes. You can then use the following keyboard shortcuts to copy your sequence:

• The keyboard shortcut for the Copy tool is [command ⌘] + [C] (Mac) / [ctrl] + [C] (Windows)

Once you have selected, then copied a sequence, click on the page and then the deck you wish to paste this sequence to. If you wish to copy a sequence to another scene, select the scene, then select the page, then the deck before using the paste function:

• The keyboard shortcut for the Paste tool is [command ⌘] + [V] (Mac) / [ctrl] + [V] (Windows)

NOTE: Steps (drum sequencer) cannot be shifted from one drum pad to another (vertically).

Right-click/Context Menu:

Right-clicking in the Drum Sequencer or the Sample and Instrument deck note area will bring up the following options.

• Cut - Copy a selection of notes
• Copy - Copy a selection of notes
• Paste - Pastes any previously cut or copied notes to the sequencer
• Delete - Removes selected notes from the sequencer
• Duplicate - Duplicates selected notes
• Select All - Select all notes on in the deck sequencer
• Reset Note Velocity - Resets the Note Velocity for all of the selected notes
• Fill In - Fill in the drum sequencer row to the value you have selected.
• Clear Row - Clear all of the notes in the selected row
• Save Pattern - Save the notes in the deck sequencer. The pattern is saved in the Patterns Tab of the library. See more information on patterns, here.
