Intro : Getting Started

When launching Serato Studio, you will be presented with the option of starting with a 'New Beat' or a 'New DJ Edit'. You will also be given the option to start a ‘New Beat’ with a genre template.

NOTE: You can manually trigger this welcome screen by clicking on ‘File’ in the top toolbar of the software and then selecting ‘New Project from Template.

New Beat

Choosing this option will launch a new Serato Studio project with a Drum Rack loaded and in view, ready for you to get into making a beat right away.

New Beat with Genre

To select this option, click on one of the genre buttons shown at the bottom of the window. This will launch a new Serato Studio project with a Drum Rack loaded that is most fitting to the selected genre. The project BPM and ‘example beat’ button will also be set to fit the selected genre. 

NOTE: Click on the left and right arrows next to the genres to show more options

New DJ Edit

Choosing this option will launch a new Serato Studio Project with a new Audio Deck, allowing you to get straight into editing a track

NOTE:  If you wish to stop the template window appearing on each launch of the software, untick the ‘Show on launch’ button in the bottom left corner of the window.

Recent Project

Your recent projects are displayed on the right-hand side of the Welcome Screen. Click on a project to launch it from the most recent save point.

Demo Project

You can launch a range of Demo projects from the ‘Demos’ tab on the right-hand side of the Welcome Screen. New Demo projects can be found in Soundpacks downloaded from - serato.com/studio/sounds

First Use Tour

On the first launch of Serato Studio you will be presented with a First Use Tour. The tour will be catered to the ‘Make a Beat’ or 'Make a DJ Edit’ option you selected from the welcome screen. This offers a walkthrough of Serato Studio's basic functions to help you get started.
