To use your Pioneer DJ Club Kit mixer with DVS control using Serato DJ Pro, you will need both a Serato DJ Pro license and a DVS Expansion Pack license.
These two products have been bundled together as the Club Kit, or you may purchase them as part of another bundle or subscription.
- Learn about the different Serato DJ software product, via our Pricing page.
- For more information about the required licenses to use a Club Kit ready mixer, check out the Club Kit license guide here.
The following Pioneer DJ mixers are considered Club Kit mixers:
- DJM-850
- DJM-900NXS
- DJM-900NXS2
- DJM-V10/LF
- DJM-A9
Once you have acquired both licenses, simply enable Vinyl / CDJ Control in the DVS Expansion Packs section of the Setup screen, under the Expansion Packs tab in Serato DJ Pro:
Then follow the steps further below to get DVS working with your Pioneer DJ Club Kit mixer:
Install Drivers
Connect the your Pioneer DJ mixer to your computer and open the latest version of Serato DJ Pro. You should see an Install Driver dialog box appear in the right-hand side panel. Click Install Driver and follow the installer prompts.
If you don't have the mixer with you currently, you can still download the driver directly from Pioneer DJ's website, or you can download a copy from our Pioneer DJ Hardware Drivers repository.
Select Input source
Once your turntables, CDJs or media players are connected to your mixer, open the SETUP screen and under the AUDIO tab, click either the TURNTABLES (PHONO input devices) or CDJ (LINE input devices) buttons.
You can also click CUSTOM which will open the Pioneer device driver utility and let you choose which kind of input source you have connected. Depending on what kind of input you have connected (usually it will be PHONO for Turntables, or CD/LINE for CDJs or Media players), you will need to make sure this is set accordingly.
NOTE: If you do not set the mixer's input accordingly, DVS control will not work.
On rare occasions, Serato DJ Pro may not receive a DVS signal. If this occurs, toggle the input inside the utility to the opposite of what you're using, then toggle it back (ie, if using CD/LINE, toggle to PHONO and back to CD/LINE, or if using CD/LINE, toggle to PHONO and then back to CD/LINE).
Select Primary Decks (optional)
In the AUDIO tab of the SETUP screen, you can also select your Primary Decks, of which the configuration will depend on the mixer you're using.
Choosing Channel 1 and 2 will allow you to have a traditional 1-2-3-4 channel configuration. Choosing Channel 2 and 3 will allow you to have a 3-1-2-4 configuration (from left to right across the mixer).
DJM-V10 / LF
Serato DJ Pro is limited to using 4 decks. This means Channels 2 and 5 are not used on the DJM-V10.
Choosing Channel 1 and 2 will sort your channels from left to right across the mixer. Virtual deck 1 is on mixer channel 1. Virtual Deck 2 being on mixer channel 3. Mixer channel 4 and 6 are then used for virtual decks 3 and 4.
Choosing Channel 2 and 3 will allow you to have a 3-1-2-4 configuration. Virtual decks 1 and 2 will use mixer channels 3 and 4. Virtual decks 3 and 4 will use mixer channels 1 and 6.
Select which deck configuration you are using with the mixer and change if necessary. If you notice you are getting signal from your control tone but on the wrong deck, you might need to double-check your Primary Decks in the SETUP screen or the physical inputs on the back of the mixer.
You are now set up to use your mixer with Serato DJ Pro and DVS control using the REL or ABS virtual deck play modes, please refer to our Virtual Deck Play Modes article.
