Numark Party Mix II Quickstart Guide [Lite]

Licensing & software

This is a Serato DJ Lite hardware unlocked device, meaning it unlocks Serato DJ Lite when connected. 

It is also a paid upgrade to Serato DJ Pro device, meaning it requires the purchase & activation of a Serato DJ Pro license, in order to be used with Serato DJ Pro.

Drivers & firmware

The Numark Party Mix II does not requires manufacturer specific drivers on macOS operating systems, however they are required on Windows, and can be found in the link below:

Install any relevant drivers and firmware updates, then connect the device to your computer, and launch the latest version of Serato DJ Lite.

PARTY MIX II CONTROL FUNCTION
1 HEADPHONE Adjust the headphone output level
2 BROWSE Library Scroll. Press to toggle between track and crate selection
3 LOAD 1 / 2 Load highlighted track to the respective deck. Double press to Instant Double
4 EQ / GAIN Adjust channel EQ (treble & bass) and channel gain (level)
5 FILTER Low & High pass combo filter (per channel)
6 JOG WHEEL Control waveform within Serato DJ in vinyl mode, or pitch bend
7 PARTY BALL LIGHTS SEE LIGHTS FOR MORE INFORMATION
8 TEMPO SLIDER Adjust tempo/pitch
9 PLAY / PAUSE Toggles Play/Pause on selected deck
10 PERFORMANCE PADS SEE PERFORMANCE PADS FOR MORE INFORMATION
11 CHANNEL FADER Adjust channel volume
12 CROSSFADER Crossfade audio between channels 1 & 2
13 MAIN Adjust the Master output level
14 CHANNEL CUE Press to cue channel for monitoring in the headphones
15 CUE Cues from temp cue point/Set temp cue point
16 SYNC Press to turn SYNC on. Hold the PAD MODE button while pressing to turn SYNC off.
17 HEADPHONE OUT Output to headphones (3.5mm or 1/8”)
18 MAIN OUT Connect 3.5mm or 1/8” output to speakers
19 USB Connect USB data cable to PC

Performance Pads

The Numark Party Mix 2 comes with 4 performance pads, that can be used across 4 different performance pad modes.

Repeatedly pressing the PAD MODE button cycles through the available pad modes, lighting up the respective LED to indicate a selection.

These consist of:

  • CUE mode: Pads 1-4 trigger Serato DJ Lite Cue points. If no Cue point is present on that slot/pad, pressing that pad will set one.
  • LOOP mode: Pads 1-4 trigger triggers an autoloop of variable sizes. Use the loop selection area in the Serato DJ Lite user interface, to influence the 4 available autoloop sizes.
  • SAMPLE mode: Press pads 1-4 to trigger samples loaded into the Serato DJ Lite Sampler.
  • EFFECT mode: Press pads 1-4 to trigger FX.

DJ-FX

The FX panel button is displayed in the top left area of the main Serato DJ Lite screen, click on this to toggle the DJ-FX panel.

With the DJ-FX panel open, you have control of two DJ-FX units, and if your hardware supports it, Channel FX, which can be applied to tracks played through your connected Serato DJ-hardware.

Both DJ-FX & Channel FX can be controlled with your mouse or by using dedicated controls on your hardware (where available).

Lights

The Numark Party Mix 2 comes equipped with Party Ball lights that are reactive to Serato software.
Press the button on the left side of the unit (pictured below) repeatedly, to cycle through the Party Ball modes.

In compatible modes, lights respond to the RGB setting from Serato software, and 3 further Programs can be selected via Setup --> Mixer --> Lighting Control (see image below)

  • Program 1 turns the RGB lights on and off in a sequential order, based on the beat played.
  • Program 2 flashes the RGB lights rapidly in a sequential order, based on the beat played.
  • Program 3 illuminates all 3 RGB lights at the same time, but their intensity is determined by the Master output level.

Help

Show Tooltips

Click on the Help button in the upper right-hand corner of Serato DJ Lite, then Show Tooltips to enable Tooltips. Tooltips provide a handy way to learn the various features of Serato DJ Lite.

Move the mouse over a section of the software to bring up a context-sensitive tooltip that describes the feature.

Click on the Help button again to turn off Tooltips.

Show Shortcut Keys

Click on the Help button in the upper right-hand corner of Serato DJ Lite, then click Show Shortcut Keys to launch a pop-up window displaying shortcut keyboard combinations.

These shortcuts can help you perform various actions quickly, such as triggering specific deck functions, controlling playback, or navigating the library.

Watch Tutorials

Click on the Help button in the upper right-hand corner of Serato DJ Lite, then Watch Tutorials to launch
your default internet browser and watch tutorials to help you get familiar with Serato DJ Lite.
