Managing your licenses in Serato DJ Pro 2.4.6 or earlier

From Serato DJ Pro 2.5.0, a new, simplified way to manage your Serato licenses is available, and while we recommend using the latest version, we acknowledge some users may not be able to upgrade to the latest release - and may require the use of an older version of Serato DJ Pro.

To activate your Serato DJ licenses in Serato DJ Pro 2.5.0 or later, please use the steps on Activation from the Serato DJ Pro user manual or, our How to deactivate your Serato products & licenses to use on another computer.
However if you're using a older version of Serato DJ Pro, the process is not the same.

The steps & information below are only relevant to users on Serato DJ Pro 2.4.6 or earlier.

Activating a Serato DJ Pro or Expansion pack license

If you have purchased a Serato DJ Pro license previously, follow these instructions to complete the activation:

  1. Open Serato DJ Pro (2.4.6 or older)
  2. Click the My Serato button in the top right corner of the Serato DJ Pro interface:Screen_Shot_2019-03-21_at_10.35.40_AM.png

  3. Log-in to your Serato.com account:New 2.4.6 sign in.png
  4. Click the ACTIVATE button, which will activate Serato DJ Pro and any expansion packs you have:New 2.4.6 Activation - Blured.png

  5. Once you have activated your Serato DJ Pro license, close the My Serato window to return to the Serato DJ Pro interface.

    NOTE: There are some rare circumstances whereby Serato DJ Pro 2.4.6 or earlier doesn't detect the licenses on your Serato.com account, namely when you've bought it from the website at the same time as an older version of the app is already running on your computer. In this case, please click the CHECK FOR NEW LICENSE button as per the image below:Buyorcheck2.4.6.png

Deactivating your Serato licenses to use on another computer

Serato DJ & expansion pack licenses can be activated on up to four computers. If you have exceeded your maximum activations; by changing your computer's hardware, wanting to activate to a fifth computer, or are simply selling your old computer, you may find yourself needing to deactivate one or more license(s).

You can manage & deactivate your licenses through your Serato.com Account page, from any computer you are signed in on:

  1. Click on the following link to go to the Manage Devices page on your serato.com account: https://account.serato.com/#/devices
  2. In the middle of the page will be a card (or series of cards), locate the card with the name of computer you are trying to deactivate.
  3. Select Deactivate this device, then Deactivate all to confirm this action in the pop-up confirmation:

  4. Note the green banner near the top of the cards to confirm the computer has been successfully deactivated.

Troubleshooting Serato DJ Pro activations

If you are having issues activating your Serato DJ Pro license, and are receiving an error, try the following:

  • Make sure you have deactivated from an old computer before trying to activate on a new computer.
  • Make sure your computer name or ID has not been changed. If you have changed the name of your computer or user account then the license will not match. You may need to deactivate and then reactivate in this circumstance.

  • Make sure you have not changed hard drives, or any computer components since you last activated Serato DJ Pro - this can also cause the license not to match. You may need to deactivate and then reactivate in this circumstance.

  • Make sure you are signing in with the correct Serato.com account that the license was purchased with.

  • Make sure you have a stable internet connection, if you are experiencing network issues turn your internet router off and back on again. Also try removing and creating a new network connection.

NOTE: If you receive an error code when activating, please contact support@serato.com or open a help request here. Please provide as much detail as possible, including the email you purchased the license with, and the error code or any information you received.
