The Analyze Files feature in the Serato Studio library helps to prepare your files by building waveform overviews, detecting problematic files and calculating the Key and BPM values to aid in finding samples to fit your project.
Analyzing your files
Clicking the Analyze Files button in the top left-hand corner of the library will trigger the analysis of files that have not already been analyzed.
Progress of this scan is shown in the bottom right of the status bar. Clicking on the progress will reveal a more detailed progress popup as well as a button to cancel the scan.
Analysis Settings
Use the drop-down arrow next to the 'Analyze Files' button to access the Analysis settings.
The Analysis settings drop-down menu allows you to enable or disable track analysis on import, Key analysis, BPM / Beatgrid Analysis as well as set the BPM Range.
Analyze on Import: When enabled, any files added to the Serato Studio Library will be automatically analyzed. When disabled, files will need to be manually analyzed by clicking on the ‘Analyze Files’ button.
Note: You will be prompted to enable or disable this option when first importing files to your library
Analyze Key: Serato Studio will detect the Key of the file when enabled. This will overwrite any ID3 tags previously written to the file.
Analyze BPM/BeatGrid: When enabled, Serato Studio will detect the BPM of the file and then create a Beatgrid. This will overwrite any ID3 tags previously written to the file.
BPM Range: Use this option to specify the range of BPM you wish your samples to be analysed between.
Analyze Entire Library: Clicking the 'Analyze Entire Library' button triggers all of the files in your library to be Analyzed.
Note: Locked tracks will not be analysed when triggering 'Analyze Entire Library'
