Uninstalling hardware drivers on Windows

If you're having trouble getting your Serato hardware recognized in Windows, it's not uncommon that the cause of the issue is an incorrectly installed, problematic driver - and less commonly - a conflicting driver, from another device.

This can often be easily remedied by uninstalling the old driver, downloading the driver again from the hardware manufacturer, and re-installing it.

Using the method below, you can uninstall drivers for hardware you don't currently have connected, and also check if any old drivers are causing a conflict.

  1. Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard, to launch the Run prompt, then type "devmgmt.msc" without the quotes, and press OK:
  2. From the Device Manager window, choose View > Show hidden devices:
  3. Under 'Sound, video and game controllers', or 'Universal Serial Bus controllers', you should now be able to find your device. Right-click the device and choose 'Uninstall';
  4. If the device requires specific drivers, you'll then be presented with a confirmation dialog box, where you'll need to ensure the 'Delete the driver software for this device' checkbox is enabled, before clicking 'OK';
  5. If necessary, visit the Drivers & Firmware page to locate and reinstall drivers.
