What are Text and Image Effects?
Whether you are wanting to show off your slick DJ name, advertise the latest drink special at the bar, or simply display a logo, Serato Video Text and Image Effects can be an exciting and useful tool to add to your DJ set up.
Text and Image Effects within the Serato Video plugin allow you to enter your own text, or select images which can then be displayed on top of your video stream. You can customize the look and feel of the text and image as well as being able to add animation and effects.
Where can I find these?
You can open the Text or Image Effects tab within the Serato Video plugin panel by clicking on the "T" button for Text Effects and the Image effects button to the left of the Text Effects button.
How do I create and edit a Text or Image Effect ?
To create an Image Effect:
1) Select the image you wish to display by clicking on the 'Image' button.
Compatible file types: .jpg, .png and .bmp on Windows computers.
2) Choose the animation, speed and alignment settings.
NOTE: When selecting a ZOOM BASS or ZOOM BPM animation it must be applied to the 'L' or 'R' as it requires an audio file overview to synchronize with the audio stream.
3) Once you are satisfied with these settings, click save. This will be saved to your Image Effect drop down list.
4) To turn the effect on, just click the ON button at the right hand end of the Image Effect panel.
To create a Text Effect:
1) Enter the text you wish to display in the text input field.
2) Choose the font, color, animation, speed and alignment settings.

3) Once you are satisfied with these settings, click save. This will be saved to your Text Effect drop down list.
4) To turn the effect on, just click the 'ON' button at the right hand end of the Text Effect panel.
To edit a previously saved Text/Image Effect, load this effect, make your changes then click save. This will update the Text/Image Effect with the new settings.
What is a Text/Image Effect Animation ?
There are a number of Animations that you can apply to your Text or Image Effects to enhance their impact. You can adjust the speed and intensity using the dropdown menu next to the animation select dropdown.
There are 3 available Text Effect and Image Effect Animations:
Scroll - Left-Right, Right-Left, Top-Bottom, Bottom-Top
This makes the text/image scroll across the screen. You can choose between "slow", "medium" and "fast" speed.
BPM Zoom
This animation makes the text/image zoom in and out in time with your tracks BPM. You can choose between "Subtle", "Noticeable" and "Over the Top".
Bass Zoom
This causes the text/image to zoom in response to the level of bass in the loaded track. You can choose between "Subtle", "Noticeable" and "Over the Top".
