Crates are the primary way to organize your music library in Serato DJ for iOS. Each crate is an independent collection that can contain tracks from your local library, streaming services, or tracks transferred from your desktop.
Creating a crate
Tap the + icon in the crate list to create a new crate. Enter a name for your crate and tap Create. You can create as many crates as you need—each track can exist in multiple crates simultaneously.
Renaming and deleting crates
To rename a crate, tap and hold the crate name, then enter the new name.
To delete a crate, Deleting a crate removes only the crate itself—the tracks it contained remain in your library.
Organizing and sorting crates
Reordering crates: Drag crates up or down within the crate list to change their order. Sorting crate contents Tap the sort icon within a crate to change how tracks are arranged.
Available sort options include:
- Artist
- BPM
- BPM & Key
- Customer
- Date Added
- Key
- Length
- Song
Streaming service crates
Crates from streaming services you've connected—including Spotify, Beatport, Tidal, and Apple Music—appear in your library.
iOS Transfer crate
When you enable iOS Transfer on your Serato DJ desktop, an iOS Transfer crate appears in your library. This crate shows tracks you've sent from desktop, allowing you to receive music transfers when your iOS device is connected.
NOTE: Crates in Serato DJ for iOS sync with your Serato account across devices. If you create or modify a crate on iOS, those changes appear on your desktop Serato DJ.
