KNOWN ISSUE: Critical issue for Serato DJ Pro and Lite when DJ hardware is connected or disconnected on Windows 11 — fixed in 4.0.9.3054

We are aware of an issue where running Serato DJ Pro and Serato DJ Lite on Windows 11 OS build 26200.8737 and upwards; may close suddenly when connecting or disconnecting your DJ hardware.

The software may close on its own when your USB cable is unplugged, your controller is switched off while it's running or when your controller briefly drops out mid-set from a loose cable or a USB hub. Some users have also seen it happen as they connect their hardware.

We recommend users to upgrade the latest version of Serato DJ to fix this critical issue. Please visit our website to install the latest version:

The same Windows update caused other issues, including hardware not being recognised if you connect it after opening the software — see KNOWN ISSUE: Windows 11 MIDI Services Update (24H2/25H2).

NOTE: This issue has been reported on Windows 11 OS build 26200.8737, but most commonly on 26200.8875 and later.

You can check your build number under Settings > System > About, or by running winver
