If you’re trying to automate Pad FX and can’t see it in the Automation list, it’s because Pad FX only appears when the Deck layer is selected.
Why It Happens
When the Automation view is open in Studio, pressing a pad automatically switches the view to that Pad layer. Pad FX is not available per pad, so it disappears from the list. This can make it look like Pad FX automation is not available for the selected deck.
How to Access Pad FX Automation
Follow these steps to display the Pad FX Automation:
Open the Automation view.
Make sure no pad is selected.
Click the green radio button next to the Deck name to switch back to the Deck layer.
Pad FX will now appear in the Automation list.
Tip
If Pad FX suddenly disappears, it’s likely because a pad was pressed while Automation was open. Simply re-select the Deck layer to bring it back.
