How can we help?

KNOWN ISSUE: History Not Importing in Serato DJ 4.0

We are aware of an issue in Serato DJ 4.0 where your History may not import successfully.

If you encounter a failed import, it's either because you have insufficient hard drive space or a corrupt history database. If you have insufficient space, please free up at least 5GB of space on the disk where your Serato library lives and then attempt to re-import your history.

How to force a re-import of your history

Please run through the following steps to wipe the Serato preference that prevents a re-import of your history:

On macOS

• Close all applications.
• Click on your desktop, hold "Option", then click "Go" > Library > Preferences.
• Move all files that contain the "_com.serato" label to the desktop (you may see multiple but feel free to just move the relevant one needed)
• Open Serato DJ software again, the History Import will be re-attempted

Here are some examples:
com.serato.dj.plist
com.serato.scratchlive.plist
com.serato.seratodj.plist

On Windows

• Close any running Serato software.
• Press 'Windows + R' on your keyboard.
• In the Run command box, type "regedit", and press enter.
• Once the Registry Editor is open, use the directory structure to navigate to the Serato folder; Computer/HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Serato
• Right-click on the 'Serato' folder and re-name it to 'SeratoOLD'.
• Open Serato DJ software again, the History Import will be re-attempted

If you do have sufficient hard drive space or you have freed up space and the import is still failing, it is likely to due a corruption within your history's database. If this is the case please reach out to our support team here

Note: It's very important to be careful when editing your Registry, as it can have a potentially adverse effect on your operating system. You can make a back-up and restore it if you are anxious about making changes, by viewing the Microsoft article here: support.microsoft.com
