Using Spotify streaming in Serato DJ Pro

Spotify can now be used as a music streaming provider in Serato DJ Pro.

To use Spotify streaming with Serato DJ Pro, you must have:

  • An active Spotify Premium subscription

  • Serato DJ Pro 3.3.5 or later

  • A stable Internet connection

Log-in to Spotify streaming via Serato DJ Pro

  1. Open Serato DJ Pro, and navigate to Setup > Library + Display > Music Streaming:
  2. Enable Show Streaming Services, if disabled, then select Spotify from the streaming services.
  3. Finally click Sign up / Login to Spotify to redirect to your default browser and log-in, sign-up, or 'continue' using your Spotify account (if you're already signed in via the default browser)
  4. After confirming you should be presented with a browser pop-up, asking to redirect you back to Serato DJ Pro - click Allow:
    NOTE: The pop-up may be worded a little differently depending on your operating system or internet browser of choice, or logged-in status.
  5. Once back in Serato DJ Pro, you'll now notice the music streaming section indicates a logged-in account:

Creating Spotify streaming playlist in Serato DJ Pro

From Serato DJ Pro 4.0.4 you can now create a Spotify playlist in Spotify.

To create a new Spotify playlist:

  1. In Serato DJ Pro, expand the Spotify library icon, then expand Your Library > Playlists.

  2. Click on the Spotify area or an existing playlist group.

  3. Select the Create playlist button.

  4. Name your Playlist and Press Enter to save.

Renaming & Deleting a Spotify Playlist in Serato DJ Pro

If you no longer need a playlist or you need to rename a playlist, you can make these changes in Serato.

 To delete a playlist:

  1. In the Spotify section of the library, locate the playlist you want to delete.

  2. Right‑click the playlist.

  3. Select Delete playlist.

 To rename a playlist:

  1. In the Spotify section of the library, locate the playlist you want to delete.

  2. Right‑click the playlist.

  3. Select rename

Note: Deleting a Spotify playlist in Serato will also delete it from your Spotify account. Make sure you don’t need it anywhere else before confirming.

Adding Tracks to a Spotify Playlist in Serato DJ Pro

You can now build and refine Spotify playlists from within Serato as you browse, prep, or perform.

To add tracks to a Spotify playlist:

  1. Find the Spotify track you want to add (via search, library, or an existing playlist)

  2. Drag the track(s) onto the target playlist in the Spotify section.

Note: Changes are reflected on your Spotify account, so the playlist is updated everywhere you use Spotify.

Deleting Tracks from a Spotify Playlist in Serato DJ Pro

To delete a track from a Spotify playlist:

  1. Open the Spotify playlist inside Serato.

  2. Select the track(s) you want to remove.

  3. Right‑click and choose Delete > From Crate.

This removes the track from that playlist only; it will still be available in Spotify search and any other playlists it belongs to.

Reordering Tracks in a Spotify Playlist in Serato DJ Pro

To reorder tracks within a Spotify playlist:

  1. Open the playlist in the Spotify section.

  2. Select the '#' column to order by number.

  3. Click and hold on the track(s) you want to reorder.

  4. Drag it up or down to the desired position in the playlist.

  5. Release the mouse button to drop it into place.

Your new order is saved back to Spotify, so the sequence stays consistent across devices and the Spotify app.

Adding Spotify Tracks to Serato Crates in Serato DJ Pro

With Serato DJ Pro 4.0.4 you can now add Spotify tracks to Serato crates, mixing streaming content into your existing crate workflow.

To add Spotify tracks to a crate:

  1. Locate the Spotify track in your library or a playlist.

  2. Drag the track onto an existing crate in the Serato library

Searching for Spotify streaming tracks in Serato DJ Pro

Click on the Streaming Search button next to the search box in Serato DJ Pro, once you've enabled Spotify as a streaming service. This will toggle focus to the ALL... crate and streaming tracks will become available for searching:

Clicking the button again will revert focus back to the track and crate you had previously selected.

If your internet connection or connection to the server fails, the Streaming Search button will be greyed out.
