Using Apple Music streaming with Serato DJ Pro

Apple Music can now be used as a music streaming provider for use with Serato DJ Pro.

To use Apple Music streaming with Serato DJ Pro, you must have an active Apple Music subscription, and you must be using Serato DJ Pro 3.3.0 or later.

Log-in to Apple Music streaming via Serato DJ Pro

  1. Open Serato DJ Pro, and navigate to Setup > Library + Display > Music Streaming:
  2. Enable Show Streaming Services, if disabled, then select Apple Music from the streaming services:
  3. Finally click Sign up / Login to Apple Music to redirect to your default browser and log-in, sign-up, or 'continue' using your Apple Music account (if you're already signed in via the default browser)
    NOTE: If you're not an existing Apple Music subscriber, you should be offered a 1-month free trial.
  4. After confirming you should be presented with a browser pop-up, asking to redirect you back to Serato DJ Pro - click Allow:
    NOTE: The pop-up may be worded a little differently depending on your operating system or internet browser of choice, or logged-in status.
  5. Once back in Serato DJ Pro, you'll now notice the music streaming section indicates a logged-in account:Apple Music login flow Pro.gif

Creating & adding to Apple Music streaming playlists in Serato DJ Pro

You can create Apple Music playlists from within Serato DJ Pro, which will also be reflected in your Apple Music account.

  • Click the New Streaming Playlist button to create a new Apple Music Streaming playlist, and then carefully give it a name. Subsequent further edits to the playlist name can only be done in an Apple Music app or Apple Music on the web. 
    You can add files to the playlist by dropping and dragging them onto the playlist, as you would do with regular Serato DJ Pro crates:

Show Featured Playlists and Only Show Clean Content

Top Charts are Apple Music streaming curated, featured playlists that appear in the Apple Music streaming section in Serato DJ Pro.

  • Click on Top Charts to expand or collapse the available playlists:Top charts toggle.gif
  • To show or hide Top Charts, open Setup > Library + Display, and toggle the Show Featured Playlists preference:Show Featured Playlists toggle.gif

To prevent explicit content from appearing in the Apple Music streaming section in Serato DJ Pro, you can specify to Only Show Clean Content.

  • To enable or disable explicit content, open Setup > Library + Display, and toggle the Show Featured Playlists preference:Only Show Clean Content toggle.gif

Searching for Apple Music streaming tracks in Serato DJ Pro

Click on the Streaming Search button next to the search box in Serato DJ Pro, once you've enabled Apple Music as a streaming service, to toggle focus will to the ALL... crate, with streaming tracks now available for searching:

Clicking the button again will revert focus back to the track and crate you had previously selected.

If your internet connection or connection to the server fails, the Streaming Search button will be greyed out.
