File Types

Serato Sample supports the following file types:

Mac:

• aac
• aif/aiff
• mp3
• mp4
• m4a
• wav
• ogg
• flac

Windows:

• aif/aiff 
• mp3
• wav
• flac
• wma
• ogg

'Free' format MP3s (where the sample rate/bit depth etc are not known) are not officially supported.

NOTE: You may receive a message stating that Beatgrids cannot be saved to a file when trying to edit a Beatgrid. This can occur for a number of reasons, such as:

• The file has read-only permissions, or is locked - adjust the permission to allow write access in your operating system, or move it to a location where adding write permission is possible, then load the file into Serato Sample again.
• The file has a Beatgrid locked status by another Serato application - unlock the track in Serato DJ Pro, using instructions from Lock Beatgrids.

Sample Rate

Serato Sample supports the following sample rates:

• 44100 Hz
• 48000 Hz 
• 88200 Hz 
• 96000 Hz 
• 176400 Hz

NOTE: Files above 176400 Hz will not load in Serato Sample. Please check with your DAW or other audio conversion software for instructions on how to down-sample your files to a Sample rate that matches one of the supported options above.

Bit Depth

Serato Sample supports the following bit depths: 

• 16 bit
• 24 bit
• 32 bit
