When you load effects into an Effect Slot or load a preset, all available Effect Parameters and the Effect Slot Knob are linked, meaning the Hex Dial controls these parameters by way of a macro, and the Preset ON button toggles its Effect Slot On/Off button.

You can unlink these controls, which can give you more granular control over the way Hex FX processes audio, and reduces the extent of macro control by the Preset Knob.
You can also offset controls, which changes the relationship between linked controls.
Unlinking
To unlink a control, right-click on it and choose Unlink. This disables macro control:

Unlinking a parameter can be useful when you want to automate this parameter in your DAW and don’t want it to be controlled by the Hex Dial or Effect Slot Knob.
Linking
To link a control, right-click on it and choose Link. This enables macro control:
Offsetting
To offset a control, adjust or toggle a linked Effect Parameter or Effect Slot Knob. Now when you adjust the Hex Dial or Effect Slot Knob, the previously adjusted control will have a new offset relationship in the macro.
Originally WARP in VINYL SIM ranges between 0-100% when the Effect Slot Knob is adjusted:
After adjusting the WARP parameter to 20%, its relationship with the Effect Slot Knob now has now been offset and ranges between 0-20%:
