Hex FX Presets let you save and recall different FX configurations, including those that come built-in and your own user-created FX configurations. You can store FX Slots and their order, FX Slot parameters, and global plugin settings within a preset.
Preset Categories
Choosing a Preset Category lets you quickly filter relevant Presets from both the Preset Selector and the Preset Browser:
Category filters include:
- All
- DJ
- Color
- Lo-fi
- Space
- Vocals
- Drums
- Artist
- Saved
Preset Selector
Click on the arrows (< & >) to the left & right of the Preset Selector allows you to cycle through the presets available in the currently selected Preset Category:
New, Randomize & Save
Mouse-over the Preset Selector, or open the Preset Browser to reveal the following controls:
- Click New to load a blank 'New Preset' with empty FX Slots and all global plugin settings reset to their default.
- Click Randomize to create a 'New Preset' with random FX Slot parameters configured. Continue clicking the button to keep generating further random presets.
- Click Save to open the Name FX preset dialog box, then type a name, and click Save to create a new user preset with the current FX Slot, FX Slot parameters, and global plugin settings, which will then appear in the 'Saved' Preset Category filter:
Preset Browser
Click on the Preset Selector title to toggle the Preset Browser, where you can view presets in the currently selected Preset Category, and click on those presets to select:
Drag the scrollbar to move horizontally through the Preset Browser or use your laptop trackpad with two fingers. You can also exit the the Preset Browser by clicking the X in the upper right corner:
Favorite & Set as Default
The following options are available with all presets.
- Right-click a preset and click Favorite to 'star' a preset and emphasize it as a favorite for quick future selection, or Unfavorite to de-emphasize it:
- Right-click a preset and click Set as Default to ensure this preset is selected upon launch of Hex FX, which is useful if you regularly use a specific preset. Once set, click Unset as Default to revert this, or set another preset as default to overwrite the default:
Show in File Explorer/Finder & Delete
The following options are only available with user presets in the Saved Preset Category filter.
- Right-click a user preset and click Show in File Explorer (or Finder) to reveal the preset file in the preset file directory on your computer. This is useful if you want to share your preset with friends or use it on another computer.
