Serato DJ activation Error Codes

License activation is only necessary for Serato DJ Intro controllers that have been upgraded to Serato DJ. For more information on the Serato DJ activation process check out How do I activate Serato DJ? If you are trying to Activate Serato DJ and you get an error code here are some helpful tips for what might be happening.

If you receive one of the following error codes, or are getting an error code for reasons other than explained below, try restarting the software and activating again. If the same error message occurs, open a help request with the Support Team.

Error Code Information

Error Code #1- License manager failed to initialize.

One possible reason for this is your clock may have been modified or changed. Make sure that your clock is reading the correct time and has not been set back. If that doesn't help try to reinstall Serato DJ making sure you are logged in as the computer administrator.

Error Code #2 - No license has been found.

The license sent from the web server didnt arrive at the computer. The best thing to try in this case is activating your licence again.

Error Code #3 - The license has expired.

You will see this message if your limited time license has expired. If you get this error message, but are not using a limited time license, please open a help request

Error Code #4 - The license ID does not match the current machine.

A possible reason for this error is that your computer hardware has been changed since first activating your license e.g. BIOS, motherboard or hard drive. Also this can appear if you reinstall your computer operating system. If you have used Serato DJ on a previous machine, make sure you have deactivated on that one before trying to activate again.

Error Code #5 - The license content is invalid.

One of the most common error codes, this means that you might have activated Serato DJ on another computer previously and forgot to deactivate. You may have even changed your computer name or ID, which does not match your licence. Another possible reason for this is that the license may have been corrupted. Open a help request if error code #5 persists.

Error #6 - The version in the license does not match the product version.

Please open a help request if you see this error code.

Error #7 - The computer clock is incorrect

Please check the clock is set correctly for your time zone on your computer and retry activation. If that doesn't help try to reinstall Serato DJ making sure you are logged in as the computer administrator.

Error #8 - The limited trial period has expired 

You will see this message if you are using a trial license and it has expired. If you get this error message, but are not using a trial license, try reinstalling Serato DJ.
